Baby Shower

Baby shower gifts

Thula and her new play dough set that Stuart's work mates bought for her.

Stuart's co-workers were so kind and surprised him with a baby shower yesterday. One of them called me several weeks ago to set it up. We met him at his office for a surprise potluck lunch. When Stuart walked into the room everyone yelled 'surprise!' and he did look confused. It was a lot of fun and nice to finally meet everyone Stuart works with. Thula felt like a queen. All of his co-workers treated her so kindly and gave her several gifts as well. Stuart is lucky to have such generous people to work with. He must be a real charmer at work or something!:-)

Stairwell and Hallway

When Thula and I went to California Stuart surprised me and finished the hallway and staircase. The house used to have green wallpaper and he put up wainscotting and refinished the hallway floors. He also carpeted the stairs. We wanted to carpet the stairs for now since we have kids (it's softer when they inevitably fall:-) The carpet wasn't my first choice, but that's okay. In the hallway picture there is still one section that isn't finished yet-just in case you were wondering.

What we've been up too

I don't have a picture of my sister on my laptop, but she is coming home today from serving an LDS mission in Utah. Yeah Rosie! It's also her birthday today too.

Thula had a week off of school for Winter Break. I took her to some museums. She liked the Dinosaur and Children's museums best.

Thanks Grandpa for our Valentine's day booty

Stuart went to Rexburg to visit his brother and lovely sister-in-law to help with the blessing of their beautiful baby, Olivia.

Thula still likes to watch Bugs Bunny. It's certainly helped with her carrot consumption!

The East Coast is wilder than you might have thought

Our neighbor used to raise pigeons and some of them still hang around the roof tops. Well now there is one less. This morning Stuart saw the hawk swoop in, scatter the pigeons and steal the weakest of them. When I got to the scene this was all that was left. Pretty cool.
