Lela's First Birthday

While I was making dinner, Thula told everyone to stay out of the dining room while she made something 'special' for Lela.

And this is the mess I got to clean up afterward.

In a burst of enthusiasm, Thula blew out the candle. Lela didn't mind, because then she got to eat what she came for, the candle of course! She was really chomping on that thing.

Everytime we sang, "Yay!" She would clap her hands.

Eating our family tradition of angel food cake. Thula and I made it together in the afternoon.

Thankyou grandparents for the wonderful gifts!

The 'after party.' After everything was over and we were getting ready for bed Thula said, "That wasn't the party that I imagined. You should have made it more fun mom." Haha. Parties for one year olds are the best for moms'!

This week is Thula's Spring Break and her school had a fundraiser at Chuck E Cheese. I didn't want to go waste the day in an arcade on such a beautiful day, but Thula really was looking forward to it. So we went and Lela got to spend part of her birthday with Chuck. At first Lela was a little unsure of everything, but then she got into the groove and really liked it. Thula was a great big sister and included her in her fun.

Thula just learned to ride her bike without training wheels. A couple of days ago she said that she was ready to ride without them. She took them off herself and away she went. She is a brave little rider, even when she falls and hurts herself she gets right back on and flies away. I was such a bawl baby as a kid, but she has more nails in her blood.

We spent part of the day outside. Look at those big cheeks! Lela is crawling over me as I take the picture.

Thula and I played some Frisbee. I liked how green the grass looked in this picture.

This is my 'artsy' picture for the day.

Happy Easter

Making a pot holder with her new weaving loom.

My dream of matching dresses is complete! I just wish there was one in my size too. :-)

The real Easter Bunny and his cronies.

Thula weaving on her new loom and Lela trying to eat her chocolate bunny.

Inspecting Easter surprises.

Open this chocolate wrapper, please!

The Easter Bunny hid Thula's basket in the washing machine!

Thula finds an egg in front of our new little garden plot!

I hope this finds all of our readers well. We wish everyone a Happy Easter as we remember Christ's atoning sacrifice and resurection. I know it makes my life worth living and puts my joys and sorrows into proper perspective. I am grateful and full of love for my family, my country, and my membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

April Fool's On Lela!

Stuart bought these sour gum balls called 'cry baby's.' Lela is always itching to taste whatever we have so Thula was so generous...

No cry babies here! She actually really loved it and giggles every time she get's a lick.

Thula's 100 days of school project- 100 Hearts and a toothless grin

Amanda, when I went to find that darn pretzel recipe you gave me (wrote down in crayon-2 pages worth!) I found other recipes that you have given me over the course of our frienship, thought you might get a laugh in the state that they were given in-all in love ofcourse! The one with the color scrabble is the 'original' craisin salad dressing.
