Thula sings a solo

Thula and her class sing in their Spring Concert

I was filming it so I didn't get any pictures of her singing, but she had a little solo on the first song. She was so excited and nervous about it. She wanted to have her nails done and clip-on earrings for the occasion.

The theme was "Friends"

Good job everyone!

Since Stuart has been away the girls have been having 'sleepovers' with me.

I love my little sleepy heads.

Backyard picnics, hoola hoops, bubbles, and marbles

During General Conference weekend Thula suggested we have a backyard picnic. She helped load everything into my grandmother's old suitcase and laid out the blue tarp. We had salad and turkey sandwiches with grapes and water to drink.

Thula's newest joy is marbles. She found my old marble set from the 3rd grade and has wanted her own for awhile now. I found a nice set for her and she was so proud of it. She wanted to start a 'marble club' at school and asked her teacher if she could. The teacher said that would be fine and off she went with most of her marbles to school. Well after bringing them to school on that first day she came home in tears (bet you know where this is going). I was sympathized with her as she related having played with them on the playground and then not remembering what happened to them afterwards. She had retraced her steps and everything. So I said, "Let's try and go through your day one more time to see what may have happened to them." "Okay," says Thula. " We played with them on the grass and then we went inside for lunch and I didn't want to loose them so I put them in my lunch box. Oh wait a minute...." and she pulls out her lunch box and they are all there! It was a happy ending for a very distraught second grader.

Obession

I put Lela to bed at 8PM and about an hour later she toddled back downstairs and pointing to the mantle where I 'hide' her movie she asked, "Mommy, wanna watch Wia?" So out came The Sound of Music where she could watch Maria (wia) sing and dance away into her dreams. She was dancing around the room and then she climbed up onto the couch and crashed into the most uncomfortable positon.

March fun

6

local St. Patrick's day parade. Thula left me and found a band of kids to go chase down candy with.

I love Irish/Scottish music!

hello!

Yes, I am a bad mother and I put her high chair in the living room while she finished up her lunch. It was the only way to stop her from crying-she wanted to finish watching her favorite movie The Sound of Music. See how happy she is now?

Thula and her friend were in the dining room making a these little signs. She showed me one and it said something to the effect that if people wanted to donate money to Japan they should drop if off at her school. She asked if she could post them around the neighborhood and I said it would be okay. Then later on after she's already hung up the signs she comes in and tells me that our old lady next door neighbor tore down some of the signs. I told her I was sorry and said to just put the signs up on the trees in our yard. Then Thula says, "I guess she didn't like the part about the killers." I said, "What are you talking about, aren't your signs about Japan?" She says, "Well mostly, but Lilly also wanted ask killers to stop killing and to brake their guns and knives and screwdrivers." Well there you have it folks. Please buy my rat infested house (a little fact Thula told our realtor the first time she came over-which we do not!) in a "killer" neighborhood!

A friend of mine and I took our kids to the Rainforest Cafe. A jungle themed restaurant with jungle animals that jump out and make noise and other special effects. Lela HATED every minute of it. She cried and screamed the entire time.

Thula loved it though.

It didn't help that our table was right next to the gorillas. It's funny that both her and Thula are afraid of apes. Periodically in the restaurant it would start 'storming" and then they would start hooting and hollering. Lela was terrified and  I think I have scarred her for life.

She kept her eyes covered the whole time as I held  her in my arms like a little baby.

Then she pulled her hood over her eyes. Poor little girl.
